Целью статьи является анализ и раскрытие особенностей развития и деятельности модульных библиотек; характеристика сущности и специфики их функционирования, а также значения социокультурной деятельности в современных социально-экономических и социокультурных условиях. Методологической основой данного исследования послужили структурно-функциональный, системный и социо-коммуникационный подходы. В своей работе автор широко использовал общенаучные (сравнение, аналогию, дедукцию, индукцию, анализ; описательный, аналитический, типологический методы) и специально-исторические методы исследования (историко-сравнительный, историко-генетический, историко-типологический, хронологический) . Научная новизна исследования состоит в расширении представлений о деятельности модульных библиотек; в освещении и характеристике сущности понятия «модульная библиотека»; обосновании необходимости распространения и развития модульных библиотек, согласно требованиям военного времени и трансформации работы библиотек в Украине в условиях перехода к цифровому обществу и электронным технологиям. Выводы. Модульные библиотеки быстро реагируют на изменения информационно-коммуникационной деятельности и оперативно изменяют формы библиотечно-информационного сервиса, наполняя его новыми услугами и продуктами в изменяющихся условиях военного положения. Благодаря новейшим технологиям модульная библиотека из хранилища книг оперативно трансформируется в социальный институт, обеспечивающий накопление и сохранение знаний. Модульные библиотеки легко адаптируются к любым изменениям социальных условий и могут быть эффективно использованы при определенных обстоятельствах существенной корректировки содержания понятия «библиотека» как социального явления и подходов к организации ее деятельности. Ведь чем больше функций (задач, направлений деятельности) реализует современная библиотека (в частности – модульная) как полноценный социокультурный и экономический субъект современного социально-коммуникационного пространства, тем лучше она отвечает запросам каждого ее пользователя. Проекты модульных библиотек очень динамичны и постоянно развиваются, так что компактность здания и эффективность использования структурных конструкций модульных библиотек позволяют, кроме прочего, оптимизировать и повысить результативность работы библиотечного персонала и функционирования библиотеки в целом.

The purpose of the proposed article is to analyze and highlight the development and peculiarities of the activity of modular libraries; characterization of the essence and specifics of their functioning, as well as their importance in the development of socio-cultural activities of libraries, in particular in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine. The methodological basis of the article was structural-functional, systemic and sociocommunication approaches. In his work, the author widely used general scientific and historical research methods: comparison, analogy, deduction, induction, analysis; descriptive, analytical, typological methods, as well as historical-comparative, historical-genetic, historical-typological, chronological and other methods of scientific research. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the expansion of ideas about the activity of modular libraries; in highlighting and characterizing the essence of the concept of «modular library»; substantiating the need for the spread and development of modular libraries, in accordance with the requirements of wartime and the transformation of the work of libraries in Ukraine in the conditions of the transition to a digital society and electronic technologies. Conclusions. Modular libraries quickly respond to changes in information and communication activities and promptly change the forms of library and information service, filling it with new services and products in the changing conditions of martial law. Thanks to the latest technologies, the modular library is quickly transformed from a book storehouse into a social institution that ensures the accumulation and preservation of knowledge. Modular libraries are easily adapted to any changes in social conditions and can be effectively used under certain circumstances to significantly adjust the content of the concept of «library» as a social phenomenon and approaches to the organization of its activities. After all, the more functions (tasks, areas of activity) a modern library implements, in particular, a modular library, as a full-fledged socio-cultural and economic subject of the modern social and communication space, the better it meets the needs of each of its users. Projects of modular libraries are very dynamic and constantly evolving, therefore, the compactness of the building and the efficiency of using the structural designs of modular libraries allow, among other things, to optimize and increase the effectiveness of the work of the library staff and the functioning of the library as a whole.
