Аннотация

The brief overview of the main aspects of archaeological research in Turkmenistan over 30 years (1991-2021) is dedicated to structural transformations in the organisation of historical research and contains general characteristics of field and expeditional activities in this country. The article summa-rises the preliminary results of excavations and the most important research issues related to these works. It shows the changing nature of archaeological data and the significance of these finds in a broader regional context.
